UNWOMEN is the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women. Since its creation in 1976, it supports financially and technically innovative initiatives to promote the emancipation of women and ensures gender equality. Currently, it aims at Improving the lives of women and girls in more than 100 countries, works towards upholding the living standard of women and girls.
Mandat:
- Reduce poverty and exclusion;
- Eliminate violence against women;
- Stop the spread of HIV / AIDS among women;
- Expand women's access to positions of responsibility in government and in the post-conflict reconstruction.
